ESHA elects its new President, Vice Presidents, Treasurer and Board, and adopts its new statutes.

On the 17th of June 2010, the ESHA General Assembly met in Lausanne to discuss all business related to the internal work of the association, including election of its new Board, President, Vice Presidents and Treasurer. This was done subsequently to the adoption of ESHA's new statutes.

On the 17th of June 2010, ESHA said goodbye to Bernhard Pelikan, from the Austrian University BOKU, in Vienna, as President of the Association. He was warmly thanked for his effective mandate as ESHA President during six years, and all participants in the General Assembly and ESHA staff regretted that he decided to end his presidency, due to too many commitments in his University work.

Under the new ESHA statutes, the new Board was elected. This was followed by the election of Marko Gospodjinački, President of the Slovenian Small Hydropower Association, as ESHA President. Mr. Gospodjinački thanked the General Assembly and gave the participants hope for a renewal in the management of the association, to take it even further than Professor Pelikan had already taken it. He proposed to take advantage of the new statutes to increase efficiency of the association and make it more proactive. He vowed to continue the work of Professor Pelikan and ensure consistency of the association's management.

The two new ESHA Vice Presidents were also elected. First of all, Mr Hugues Albannel will remain Vice President and Professor Pelikan will be the other Vice President. This will enable them to assist Mr Gospodjinački in his work and ensure consistency in the leadership of the association.

Last, but not least, the President of the Romanian Small Hydropower Association, Bogdan Popa, was elected as Treasurer of the association, a task which entails looking after the finances of the association, with the support of the ESHA staff.
